China's textile industry is accelerating transformation and upgrading towards smart manufacturing.

China currently holds the largest share of global textile and apparel production and exports. The sustained and stable growth of textile and apparel exports is crucial for maintaining China's foreign exchange reserves, maintaining a balanced balance of payments, stabilizing the RMB exchange rate, ensuring employment, and fostering sustainable development in the textile industry. With the continuous advancement of mechatronics technology in the textile machinery industry, and the increasing demand for textile technology to meet the specific product characteristics of the textile industry, China's textile machinery industry chain is complete, boasting a diverse range of products and categories. From January to September 2021, China's total textile machinery imports and exports reached US$6.155 billion, a year-on-year increase of 14.25%. Of this total, textile machinery imports reached US$2.647 billion, a year-on-year increase of 29.15%, while exports reached US$3.508 billion, a year-on-year increase of 5.25%.

Currently, China's textile industry chain maintains stable production. The pursuit of high-quality development places higher demands on continuous, automated, and green equipment. The Chinese textile machinery industry will explore new development paths in energy conservation and emission reduction, strengthen exchanges with domestic and international textile machinery companies, and jointly create a better future. Currently, China's textile industry has entered a phase of accelerated transformation and upgrading, with a significant increase in sales of continuous, high-speed, and intelligent textile machinery equipment. These changes in equipment demand, on the one hand, reflect the direction of product restructuring and industrial upgrading. On the other hand, they are also an inevitable response to the current challenges faced by the textile industry, which is facing rising labor and raw material costs. High-speed, intelligent equipment can reduce labor costs and improve efficiency for textile companies. Furthermore, given the current global shortage of raw materials such as cotton, high-end equipment is essential to fully utilize these raw materials and increase product value. This demand trend will become even more pronounced over the next 5-10 years.

In order to revitalize the development of China's textile industry and textile machinery industry, the country has successively issued a number of guiding policies, including the "Guiding Opinions on the Development of the Textile Machinery Industry during the 13th Five-Year Plan Period", the "Guiding Opinions of the State Council on Promoting International Capacity and Equipment Manufacturing Cooperation", and "Made in China 2025". These policies list high-end textile machinery manufacturing as a key area of encouraged development, and require that the research and development, manufacturing and localization of various types of high-end textile machinery, including weaving equipment, be accelerated around the structural adjustment and industrial upgrading of the textile industry.
